The show entitled: "Facing Obstacles» with Katerina Vrana.
The event was a harbinger of 3th Disability Awareness Week with the central slogan: "All Together – All Equal”, which will take place from 20 to 26 May 2024. The aim of the Awareness Week is to create and cultivate, among the participants, empathy, inclusion and respect, for an inclusive society.
The show was attended by students of 1th EPAL of Chalkida, of Kanithos High School, of 1th Lyceum of Chalkida, of 2th Chalkida High School, 2th Chalkida High School, 4th Chalkida High School, 5th High School of Chalkida, ENEEGYL of Chalkida and KDAP "The road of colors".
The stand up comedian Katerina Vrana described to the students in a unique and instructive way exactly what happened to her in Malaysia. She emphasized how her family handled her disability and her strength for life. Afterwards, he answered questions from the students.
The event was attended by Regional Governor of Central Greece Fanis Spanos, who said: "We welcomed to Chalkida Katerina Vrana, an incredible "sit down comedian", as she called herself. We thank the children and teachers from both the standard and special education schools, who filled our auditorium and shared a humorously told, but very serious, life lesson from Katerina."
Ο Appointed Social Welfare Adviser Evangelos I. Chainas stressed: "Katerina Vrana's life story is a living example, a life lesson. The future of our society is you, the young people. You will definitely face obstacles in your life. However, you will be able to manage them rationally and effectively with positive thinking and attitude. Let's be inspired by Katerina's example."
The event was attended by -among others- the following: Deputy Governor P.E. Evia George Kelaiditis, Vice-Regional Governor for Innovation of New Technologies and Digital Governance Konstantinos Vardakostas, Vice-Regional Governor for Education Anastasios Velissariou, Vice-Mayors of the Municipality of Chalkide and representatives of agencies and public services based in the Regional Unit of Evia.
